Performance enhancement program for EgyptAir Cargo

EgyptAir Cargo, a subsidiary of Egypt’s flag carrier, has assigned Lufthansa Consulting (LCG) to support the company’s efforts to improve its functions and performance. The project, which is scheduled for an overall period of nine months, has already started in Cairo.

The German aviation management experts will be concentrating on EgyptAir Cargo’s role in developing Cairo as a cargo hub serving Africa and the Middle East. The freight carrier aims to substantially boost its competitiveness, customer focus and economic performance. To reach these goals, LCG is focusing on improving its client’s organization, cargo operations and facilities as well as its sales, network management, process quality, and also on reducing costs. The project is being conducted under the patronage of EgyptAir Cargo’s Chairman, Capt. Asaad Darwish and managed from the client's end by its VP Economic Affairs, Engineer Hussein Elrefaie.

Once it has thoroughly assessed EgyptAir Cargo’s current performance and identified the necessary measures, Lufthansa Consulting will also assist the company during the implementation phase. Thanks to its successful performance during the initial project phases, EgyptAir Cargo has recently extended the scope of the project and assigned LCG in order to conduct an assessment of the company’s financial management.

The first implementation steps will be completed by November 2006 and a mid-term plan will be developed to support EgyptAir Cargo’s further enhancement.

Engineer Atef Abdel Hamid Mostafa, Chairman of the Board of EgyptAir Holding Company, formulates the high client expectations: "EgyptAir Cargo Company has signed a contract with a world-class consulting firm to carry out a comprehensive upgrade of its cargo system. I am highly confident that our customers will see the results of this program by the end of this year.”
