Project description

In 2008 Lufthansa will present an entirely new cabin interior product to mark the introduction of its first Airbus A380. Due to the complexity of the project requirements, Lufthansa Consulting took over the special task to support the 15 involved development teams with the integration of a customized project management system at the beginning of 2005.

The comprehensive experience in complex and time critical projects enables Lufthansa Consulting to develop tailor made project management methodologies, in this case a combination of a web based database in the MS Project Enterprise System and the “Daily Build Method”, developed by Lufthansa Consulting.

A customized program for each individual sub-project has been designed, to comprise process regulations, standards, reporting, data files and communication formats. This enables individuals involved in the project to contribute effectively to the computerized project management system while keeping staff/time costs to a minimum.

Lufthansa Consulting uses the MSProject 2003 Enterprise application from Microsoft based on its world-wide established standard, which enables the entire project communication process to be coordinated world-wide with a web based project portal.
